I thought, someone is going to discuss the new winding art here. At least the principles. I think it is not wise to turn the forum into commercial site!

There is nothing wrong paying a small fee for this knowledge, if the information is really his to give away to the public domain.

I wish there were more DVD's like this for example Growing Algae, building a plastic to diesel converter (hint hint!) this also gives the invertor the resources for other projects or expand upon his product (if the updates are free the ones who purchased the DVD).

35 dollars isn't allot, but does cover some of the expanses if he sells a multitude.

Don't forget he goes through 4 models from small to large and gives some bonus information.

          Brian......RESPECT!

I totally agree everyone just wants everything for free. if Brian had patented this you wouldn't have had a chance to benefit from his knowledge, these things take allot of time and effort and that is a small price to pay to help the inventor continue his research. Brian has allot of great ideas I hope this works for him. I am planning to the same thing soon and the last thing we need is someone buying the DVD and posting what they have learned, I think it would seriously undermine Brian's efforts along with anyone else who is trying to do the same thing SO DON'T DO IT!!

Hello, and welcome to the forum. The information sounds interesting. Recently i worked on an PM alternator project for a tide turbine, and making an efficient and effective one is not as easy as it would first appear (greatly magnified by the specific problems of design for underwater operation, ours was an "in line" concentric design that had the rotor with magnets also being the driving impeller). We also tried Halbach Array type magnetic bearings with it, but they would not work at the low RPM range of operation ;(

This was also a big problem for power output: Low RPM, and no ability to gear it up in a concentric design. The only answer we could see was to pack more and more coils in, with stronger and stronger magnets. The end result weighed 3 times what we first thought it would for the same output lol. One idea is to increase the diameter (increases the angular velocity of magnet verses coil at the perimeter), but that has design problems of its own. I see a recent Japanese conceptual design for an all new type windmill, has the magnets in the blade tips and coils in a ring around them for maximum velocity (the conical section-shaped ring also channels the air in more efficiently) .

BTW, what distance gap do you use between the magnets and coils in your designs?

You mentioned a Prof. at Delft University in the Netherlands. Is it the same guy shown here, who also hosted the public demonstration of Turkish inventor Muammer Yildriz's magnet motor in April 2010 (shown below) ?

Lol if it is the same guy, please ask him what ever happened to it

                Thanks Majestic81

Yes there will be a login page for customers in the future , so they can download updates.

I wish I had the money to buy big magnets for building a big generator for in the movie.
If you got a large peace of PVC for the stator, like in the photo.

( generator-3, the stator tube of generator-3 and big stator tube for a big generator)

The thing is, that the wall of the big stator tube is much to wide, it will give a large air gab!

So, to make a big generator we use only the shape of the large PVC pipe but not the pipe it self.
We build the generator in a different way.

This will be a free update movie for those who have purchase the DVD.

                cheers
                Brian

                      ideas for winding the coil

                      Hi Brian,
I have sent you a PM last week, suggesting a new way to wind the stator coil. I even attached two pictures of the idea. It seems that you did not read the PM. Maybe the mail got dumped in the trashbin of your mail box.
I am Aaron, please check your email address posted in your youtube channel.

had some neos fall in my lap

                          @ EC / All

I just had 8 rather large NEO's given to me by a friend. They are1 13/16" x 1 3/16" x 1 3/16", (46mm x 30mm x 30mm). I have no idea specifically what these magnets are except that I quickly learned that you don't want to get in between them! Two of them have joined together and I am not quite sure how to get them apart, but I digress.

They where given to me because I had mentioned that I wanted to build a VAWT, and mentioned I would probably have to build/modify a generator.

Would these be good for this purpose, in your opinion, or would they be better used for some other fun project.

I have not ordered your info yet but would be happy to if you all recommend.

                          Thanks

                          John

P.S. I may be able to get a bunch of these pretty cheap if there is something REALLY FUN to do with them!

                            Hello Eothand

I am not trying to sell my DVD to you or something.
But if you got 16 or 32 of those magnets and you have tools to make slots in stead of holes in the rotor, no problem you can make good generators of them.

                            Cheers

I could easily get 8 more, probably for free, and maybe 24 more for a couple of bucks/beer.

With my limited knowledge about the subject 32 of these magnets seem like they would be OVERKILL for anything but a huge VAWT. It wouldn't do me any good to have a BEEFY generator if I can't turn it Of course, that is why I am asking because I really have no idea.

After reading several reviews it seems like you have a really great product, so I guess I should just pony up some dough and learn something!
I could also just shell out some money for different magnets and use these for something else, but the price was right for these gems!

                                Thanks
