  • The Adsitt Motor generator - battery charger

Does anyone know Don Adsitt or his motor unit he built a few years ago? I can't seem to find his web site or anything current on him. I forget the details of this motor but I bought one from him pre-built when he had the web site theverylastpageoftheinternet.com - which is no longer there other than one of those domain parking ad pages with ads related to the former site interest.
Don's motor used a coil, 2 9v batteries and a small circuit with a transistor or Mosfet, an LED and neon bulb, couple diodes, resistor and cap. It has 4 magnets in the rotating part that pass by a coil and when it runs it charges one battery while using the other. It runs a very long while on one 9 volt battery IIRC.
I'm interested if there is anything else I can do with this or if anyone is familiar with it. It seems somewhat similar to some of Bedini's work. I can't remember if it was a bifilar wound coil but I think it may be. I know it puts out a large EMF field and/or RF and generates a couple hundred volts that will give you a nice little shock if you touch it in the wrong place
    Here's a pic of it:

Sounds exactly like a bedini motor... can you make out the circuit?

That's what I was thinking. You can basically make out all the components from the picture except the rectangular capacitor. All the rest of the components are sitting on top of it. I might be able to draw a schematic diagram from it although with the somewhat overwhelming amount of other projects I've got going right now I like to keep focused on what I need to do except when I am too tired too work - then I get on the Internet

Looks to me like that rectangular block is probably a relay. It looks to me like a Bedini with a relay for either switching batteries or doing a dump to the charging battery.

          Bedini SG

I remember long ago he had a website theverylastpageoftheinternet.com
          you can check archive.org

He was selling Bedini SG kits without permission, etc...
          Sincerely,

Thanks Aaron - I did look at archive.org earlier but there were only partial pages and nothing I could find on the motor. But I believe you've answered what I was wondering -- that these are probably the essence of a Bedini SG motor.

everwiser - Thanks for the input and I know that looks a like a relay but it's a 1.3 uf 250 vac cap - markings on the back side. No relays are in this circuit but does have a transistor that may be performing a similar function.

It looks like a simplified SG with oscillator tranny, diode and 1 - 3uF 250VAC cap, LED instead of 1N4001 between emitter and base , protective neon bulb between emitter and collector. Nothing new and exciting but basic J.B circuit.

Sorry about that. I couldn't see that from the pic. In that case, the cap is probably being used to convert the pulses to a form that will allow the charge batteries to be used on the front end once they're charged.
