If you're careful, you should be able to machine/file those laminations flat where they contact the magnets and then give them a surface coating of epoxy. As long as the finished product allows your rotor the proper clearance, you should be golden.

I am rely glad to join on the forum.First sorry for my oful English, bat i tray to bee better .I follow this forum ,and finally join because off this trad. Thanks too Jetis for sharing as work on the motor. I work on this tape off motor around 2 years and still found some interesting behavior. First off oll mast say thet motor is not over-unity (sorry Jetis).In my case it s around 95 to 98% .But don't be discourage, I don't tray to capture BMF. Jetis work on 4 pole motor, mine is 8 pole and have some unique characteristic. First they have big torque inn opposite off switching reluctance motor, and torque is constant for almost ol rpm range. Second in range of full rpm and half rpm (of course with load) the current draw not change I think Jetis will discover same thing in hes motor. Only thing I suggest is he must use less magnets because of saturation of iron.I think half size will be best. Jetis if you have any question about my work I be glad to answer

I would be glad if you could post some pictures of your motor. I already knew that the current draw does not change when motor is loaded, I saw that in a video at peswiki site. What was the air gap between stator and rotor in your setup? Have you tested the motor on a load test stand? I am glad to have someone here that also has been working on this. Any additional info would be appreciated, especially pictures Can you tell me more about the saturation of the core? How do stronger magnets affect the performance of the motor? Does current draw increase?

I mast say my motor is hand made literally, only rotor is made by water cutting.Stator and windings is made by hands, and therefore air gap between stator and rotor is in bast case 0,5mm . if you have lass air gap motor characteristic go up. I try to put some picture of motor in fase of assembling. In you tube you may see my motor if you search, parallel path magnet motor(by fredofantastico).About saturation of iron, you mast understand in motor you have 3 flux combine, 2 magnets flux and 1 electromagnets and oll go to core of stator. I presume you use silicon steel and saturation is about 1,8T. If you sum oll 3 flux you cant overcome 1,8T, because after that point you mast use more current to overcome steel hysteresis

I almost forgot to say that with increase magnets current draw rise. Motor performance is depend of strength of magnets but only to the point of saturation of core

Great setup you have there I will check you those youtube videos with great interest I understand about the saturation now, it is as I already suspected. You say that you have 0,5mm air gap, my aim in this setup is 0.15mm, if you achieved up to 98% efficiency with that air gap. With more poles the attraction forces will be equal from all sides so that there is less stress on the shaft, this means that in a multipole setup I could get the air gap even smaller, maybe 0.1mm. I think that OU can be achieved, because as the air gap gets smaller, the torque gets bigger exponentially. Also, how thick are the silicon steel sheets that you are using? Looks like 0.5mm, right? I use 0.35mm sheets, this should also be advantageous. Thank you for the pictures and info. If there is anything else you think I should know, let me know

Electric coil polarity reversal.

@Jetijis and Zhorv. Can either of you tell me if the magnetic field in the iron bar with magnets and wire coils, shifts to the other side if you reverse current polarity in the electric coils? I believe a twin rotor motor might be possible, one rotor on each side of the iorn bars with a DPDT reed relay reversing the current polarity in the wire coils, if the field shifts from side to side with the change in current polarity. One can imagine two rotor wheels facing each other on common axel, with a group of radial iorn bars attached to an interior cylinder core, and a polarity reversing switch controling the alternating pulse.

That's obvious. so change of the direction of the current in the coil means change of the direction in the magnetic flux in paralel path configuration. What you are proposing is axsial flux paralel path magnet motor, what i've been working on for several months only on paper because for that kind of motor (even if it is just a prototipe) a large amount of money is needed. if Jetis is interested i would happily send him plans for my idea. i'm affraid that in the time being i would not be able to make that happen (i mean motor) . by

Looking very good!
I certainly do not have the tools to attempt a Flynn replication (too complicated shapes) but I hope you get great results. Only critical comment at this point would be the size of your magnets. The field of the magnet, as well as the field from the coil must together go though a stator finger. But the cross section of one stator finger is too small to support such big combined fields. I would start at half the magnet size you have now an work from there. But please keep us updated!

I agree with you on the cross section thing, but that is all I could afford to leave for the stator finger, because this leaves only about 6mm width for the coil.

Steven, I suspect that the guy from your video is the same as the guy in the video I posted earlier, because they both use the same test stand and are both from Italy. That test stand looks great, I wonder how much does it cost? Couldn't find anything like that on google.
