Bergstresser
Livehho,
I never used it on my car. I only did some bench experiments. My wire
gauge was smaller than what Bergstresser used so if I was going to use
it, I would rewind one with the right bigger size.
My friend used one years ago when Bergstresser sold them and it worked
for him on a big V8. More power and mileage.
I have done other inductor in series with spark plugs and have seen that
the spark does seem to be prolonged. It is a $5 project that just about
anyone could do.Sincerely,

so Bergstresser sold them? I don't suppose u have the link? it would be nice to have the original product. Much easier to replicate.Originally posted by Aaron View PostLivehho,

No, it was back in the 70's or 80's I think.Sincerely,

I figured I'd cross reference this to a post I made http://www.energeticforum.com/renewa...html#post88914
Related to coil windings in opposite directions with a voltage and frequency increase in output

Marketing name.
By looking at the patent diagrams, as well as your replication, it appears you're discussing a device which was marketed as the "Lectran Pulsar".Originally posted by Aaron View PostNo, it was back in the 70's or 80's I think.
I happen to have one of these devices here, though the label specifying the patent number has long since been lost.

Mileage Gain not the issue
Hi Guys,
I owned one of the original Bergstresser units. I bought it directly from Ralph. I had purchased a 1973 Chevy Impala from a friend in 1983. The car had a 454 engine and was set up to pull a huge house trailer. The engine was designed to run on 102 octane gas, available in 1973, but in 1983, I could only get 94 octane gas, and the engine was knocking like a son-of-a-bit**. Putting the spark elongator in-between the coil and the distributor allowed the engine to run smoothly on the lower octane gas, with no other modifications to the engine. I was very happy with its performance. I never did any mileage tests to see if it improved with the unit.
